Consumer unit (fuse board) upgrades are becoming more popular due to the requirements of (RCD)residual current device that are designed to prevent you from getting a electric shock if you touch something live, such as a bare wire and can also protect you from burns and even fire. RCD’s offer a level of protection that older fuse boards and circuit breakers cannot provide. The modern 18th edition type A –  RCD consumer units also come with Surge protection to protect all of your electronic devices in the event of a power surge.

 

With our homes constantly growing with more circuits like Hobs/ovens, EV car chargers, Hot tubes, Showers etc we need more capacity to add the circuit along with additional safety.
